ASSESSORS MEETING MINUTES

AUGUST 10, 2006

 

 

7:00 P.M.  Called meeting to order.  Present:  Richie Gorden, Paula Keefe

                  and Mark Mazur

 

1.  The Board reviewed a letter from the State Department of Revenue granting

     our requests for authorization under M.G.L. Chapter 58 Section 8.

 

2.  The Board granted the following abatements with state permission and under

     the authority of M.G.L. Chapter 58 Section 8:

 

            Parcel 900-2                FY1983, 1984, 1986 through 1994

            Parcel 56-14-9             FY 1981 through 1983

            Parcel 40-17-1             FY 1990

            Parcel 40-90                FY 1994

            Parcel 38-45                FY 2004

            Parcel 76-14-3             FY 1981

 

3.  The Board reviewed and then signed an omitted and revised assessment report

     for fiscal year 2006.

 

4.  The Board reviewed a spreadsheet analyzing properties due to receive a

     supplemental tax on new construction for FY2006.  They also reviewed

     proposed bills and explanations that accompany them.  The Board then signed

     a commitment for FY2006 supplemental tax on new construction.

 

5.  The Board reviewed and approved, as amended, plans for a public notification

     program for our fiscal year 2007 assessments.

 

6.  The Board reviewed and then granted Farm Plate abatements for fiscal years

     2004, 2005 and 2006.

 

7.  The Board read a letter from Connery Associates, the developer of a planned

     housing project in Sharon.  The developer would like to meet with the Board of

     Assessors to discuss their planned development.  The Board directed the

     Administrative Assessor to schedule a meeting with the developer.
